Flameboy to the Wet Willy that was Lance Mountain’s Flip video section, Chet Childress’ hard-luck tale of broken teeth and soggy pinatas teaches us that there’s little love to be found even in a state home to aging hippies and free skateparks built by harmonious units of best friends. Here we find Childress zipping switch-stance through Burnside’s humps and bumps and crunching coping, but the part also functions as a comment on video production at the height of the Great Recession, keeping the filming trips to a cross-town minimum and saving pennies that wealthier companies might have spent on a color picture. All’s we’re saying is if you’re likely to do most of your business in concrete parks anyway there’s less photogenic locales you could select, and the bent-arm bro’s coping-pop remains at an all-time high.

just lacked the originality of normal chet parts ( no crazy side taps, grind up the edge to fs disaster etc. ), not to mention an overall lack of fisheye line filming that was amazing in black labels – back in black . still really good i doubt i would be able to do much at burnside besides 5050 and feeble stall.

Umm, gotta disagree with your rankings thus far… look forward to seeing what else you come up with though.

While I am at it- I just saw this:
The two or three clips at burnside got me more stoked than that whole Chet Childress part (not to mention the rest of the part).
Will this be showing up in the rest of your list?

Dear Sir,
Not a comment on the Chet part, but I wanted to contact you about stealing your T-Eddy award suggestion – Buy A Vowel – Ben Skrzypek. Also, right now I’ve got Yaje Popson for the Say My Name, Say My Name category, but if you have a better suggestion I’m all ears. If you’d rather not participate (and rather I keep my hands off your ideas,) I completely understand. Let me know. Good job on BTO. I don’t follow the videos as closely as you, but I always get a kick out of it.
sincerely, MB

Take all the ideas you want, some were not mine to begin with

I agree with you having Chet’s Label part in the top ten. I might’ve even bumped it up one or two more notches. The dude completely kills that place and I’ve been hyped on this part for days now.

whether or not you like lance or chet better, one can agree rather resolutely that the music in chet’s part was better than the entire fip video soundtrack
